Amber Lockwood is the Network Coordinator of Youth2KFLA, a flagship project of the Students Commission of Canada, based in Eastern Ontario. Amber was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area before moving away for school at age 18. Amber has a Bachelors of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy and History from Trent University ('14) and a Bachelors of Education from Queens University ('15). Her passion for working with children and youth is deeply intertwined with her sense of self, and this passion led Amber to dedicate over ten years to recreational programming both in camp and after school settings. Amber's background in Education and life experiences found her teaching in multiple Special Education and other high needs classrooms in the both the Ottawa Carleton District School Board and, more recently, the Limestone District School Board. Amber currently sits on the Kingston Pride board of directors and is the founding member of KTown Youth Pride. In addition to (and often in conjunction with) her work, Amber takes on several roles in her personal life which include, in no particular order, a dog and cat mom, a dragon boater, a caregiver, a paddle boarder, a friend, a movie watcher, an ally, and life long learner.
